Gangotri is the base camp for several adventurous treks. The most famous treks starting from Gangotri include the Gaumukh Yatra, Gaumukh Tapovan, and Kedar Tal. Additionally, expeditions to Vasuki Tal, Auden’s Col, Kalindi Khal, Nandanvan, and a few other destinations also commence from Gangotri.

Experience the Himalayas has a trek gear rental and sale store from where you can rent trek gear Gangotri. Their store is located at “Main Ganga Temple Road, Gangotri, 249135.“

The shop is run by Deepak Rana from Purali Village, Uttarkashi. During my visit, I met his brother, Gaurav Rana, who helped me with all the information related to trek gear prices and rentals.

Trek gear such as sleeping bags, tents, trek poles, and trek shoes are all available at the store. They even rent out expedition gear.

“We have been running the store here in Gangotri since the 2000s. Earlier, our store had a different name, but we changed it to Experience The Himalayas in 2005. Our company is registered under the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, and we also have GST,” said Gaurav Rana.
